Praise for this book

This slim book is one I wished I'd had thirty years ago when I began my journey of exploring the things that make me me. At the time, I jumped into Zweig and Wolf and later Kopp without knowing there was a shadow self, what shadow work entailed or if I could even explore my own psyche in this way. I only knew that I had a niggling sense of discontent, unhappiness, emotional injury, and a strong pull toward this subject that hadn't fully disclosed itself to me yet.

I plan to reread Peters' book again with a dedicated notebook, so I can take my time with the exercises. I won't complete every task, but I plan on doing much of the work to see if this doesn't help firm up the realizations and lessons I've learned over the years, but never took any time to document.

The Shadow Work Journal and Workbook is loaded full of what someone needs to begin the hard work on themselves, especially if a Jungian trained therapist isn't available in their area or if they can't afford therapy. I consider this book a highly valuable tool for beginning, continuing, and reassessing our most important work as beings with complex emotions and psychological make-ups.

Whether you are new to shadow work or a long time practitioner of it, this book will deepen your understanding of the process and more importantly it will deepen your understanding of yourself. This is not one of those books that bulks out it’s length with blank page after blank page for you to fill in. You are going to need your own blank notebook or journal to accompany this work because these pages are full of the information you need to understand your shadow, work with it and most importantly to integrate it. This is your guide to a journey, a dance if you will, to become a fully balanced and whole being, a unique blend of the light and the shadow within. A true journey of self love, authenticity and healing.

Already from the very beginning, I could sense how respectfully and gently the author was guiding me through the world of shadows, and it continued till the end of the book. It was like a soothing water that was healing inner parts of me. Exercises were big part of that journey, too. I can warmly recommend this book to anybody who would want to live a life where you learn to build a constuctive relationship with different parts of you, including your inner child.
